I got this in the mail a several weeks ago, but here’s the gold statuette for an engagement film I made: “A Badlands Romance.” It won an international award in cinematography with the AMCP’s (Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals) Viddy Awards!
Fun fact: Before I pursued a career in the media industry, I was passionate about acting and wanted to be a Hollywood actress. Besides being an honour roll student, my high school life was all about the arts and drama class. I even wrote down a list of goals in life that included winning a Golden Globe or an Oscar for best actress! But life took a different turn and I’ve since realized that that was not the path for me. I’m grateful for the life I have now with my amazing husband and our beautiful kids and couldn’t imagine it differently… even with the glitz and glamour Hollywood has to offer!
But winning this Viddy Award would probably be the closest I’ll get to scratching off that “win a Golden Globe” goal. The Viddy Award is a high-profile recognition piece created by Society Awards, the most prestigious custom design and manufacturing firm in the awards industry. The Society Awards produces the Golden Globes, Emmys, and many other prominent awards.
So I’m really proud of this and inspired to keep pushing on with my film-making passions. I’m so thankful as well to the family and friends who continue to support me with all this. Whether it’s sharing my works on social media, hiring us for their events, or even just referring us to the people they know. And of course, to my husband Jeff who has been my teammate in all this. Like I mentioned before, this award is very much for me as it is for him! Ok, speech over… Carreon!
